Lesnick, 25, graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. in 2006. He began working in Evansville in August after completing a 10-week reporting fellowship at The Indianapolis Star.

After developing an interest in writing at an early age, Lesnick wrote his first newspaper story while a rookie staffer on his high school newspaper. At IU, he wrote extensively for the Indiana Daily Student, first as a sportswriter and later focusing primarily on news and features.

Lesnick went on to serve as Editor in Chief of the IDS for a summer and to complete reporting internships with The Gazette in Gaithersburg, Md., Knight Ridder/Tribune Campus in Washington, D.C. and The Star.

After starting in Evansville as a cops reporter on the night shift, Lesnick now balances covering breaking news with Web reporting. The latter includes reporting and posting breaking news throughout the day, developing extensive multimedia content and creating and maintaining online databases.
